In 2023, an initiative launched at Parsons School of Design to tackle a major environmental issue: the tons of usable art materials discarded into landfills each year. Having joined as a volunteer at its inception, I advanced to managing the space in 2024. I took over management in 2024 to cultivate a community rethinking material life cycles and conscious creation.
Fixing Parsons: Repair Cafe

To bridge design education with real-world sustainability, I co-initiated the pilot run of the student-led Parsons Repair Cafe. Grounded in the idea that design requires active care, this initiative brings young learners together to repair, restore, and keep everyday objects in use—shifting focus from consumption to physical care and skill-sharing.

Over four years, I curated and managed an annual exhibition series focused on environmental and social justice. I directed every phase from concept to execution—overseeing artist selection, curatorial vision, and complete event logistics. Beyond the art, the core purpose was to convene a community of like-minded individuals and give them a dedicated platform for open dialogue and exchange.
